so, as most of you know, i’m pretty addicted to fonts and color schemes. i truly agonize over which shade is perfect for every project i do, but a lot of times, this leaves me in a bind . . . i can’t SEE all the colors for what they truly print as. choosing the color on your computer screen is very different sometimes from the actual color on printed material.
so i’m forced to head to Clampitt. oh, how i love Clampitt Paper!! it’s this magical wonderland of paper, design samples, and color books. they have large pantone books there where you can tear off little color schemes (think paint chip samples from Home Depot) and you can take them with you. needless to say, i have spent many a day up at Clampitt, essentially robbing them of their pantones.
i am thrilled beyond belief to announce that my wonderful, insightful hubby was SO SNEAKY this christmas and worked with my printer to give me my Very Own Pantone Guide. i have two (for different types of paper) and i have been matching everything on my desk since december 25th. i realize this is a ridiculous game, but i really do feel upset with myself if i can’t come close to the correct color of my new purple ipod nano . . . (and in case you are curious, it’s PMS 2725).
the first picture is of me attempting to choose the perfect ink color for one of my closest friend’s letterpress invitations, and the second picture is of my new pantone book! yippee!!
