i am hosting a baby shower with some friends for the beautiful jenny bradford. she is one of the most HEALTHY individuals i know — and is a lover of all things organic. she drives a fabulous old school mercedes that runs on vegetable oil, and is more environmentally friendly than anyone i know.
of course, we had to throw her an ECO baby shower!
here is a little inspiration board for the shower and a glimpse of the invites (which were printed on 100% recycled paper of course). the motif on the onesie was taken from her nursery wall decor . . . i loved it and just HAD to use it as the baseline for the design.
we included some ECO TIPS on the back of the invite on how to wrap the gifts without using store-bought wrappings (therefore trash later) and included a place for the guests to write a note to jenny and/or baby bradford to recycle the invitation! this will serve as a tag for their gift, then will be put in a mini keepsake book.
stay tuned for pics and more tips on hosting your own ECO BABY shower!
so my sister, the ever trendy and cooler than i’ll ever be Miabella, found this photo of me holding her when i was four years old. i thought it looks strangley familiar, considering we had just snapped a few of me and jackson in the same pose . . .
but i SURE WISH i had the volume in my hair like i did when i was 4!!
i really love my job, but sometimes i hate the “business”.
one of these days i’ll be making <<enough>> so i can take on lots of pro bono projects and give away my services to the people who truly need them.
until then, though, i’ll have to charge. while i’m so thankful i can make a living doing something i love, sometimes us entrepreneurs can get pretty taken advantage of.
i am, of course, guilty of being a Queen Bee Negotiator as well, but sometimes, you just gotta suck it up and trust that the pros (i.e. US!) are giving you a great product for a reasonable price.
I am one of the graphic designers for the Junior League of Dallas, and I am working up a logo for our “retail” department. These are the two I came up with . . .
in an effort to: keep calm, gain inspiration, and do some quick home decor makeovers for the new house, i recreated this classic image for my kitchen/entry nook. it is by no means EXACT, but it makes me smile, and it was fast and free! now, with frames at michaels 40% off, i’ve made a quick poster/frame that will cost about $15 total.
i just completed this logo for a transitional living home in dallas. one of the guys at the house is an architect, so i had him sketch a picture of the house to use in the logo.
i know, i know . . . we all have our “excuses” when it comes to lagging behind in the blogging world. well, mine are pretty good — had little baby boy on February 15th (!) and then thought it would be a great idea to move a few weeks later. thanks to a million friends & family, we are IN our house — although not quite settled. but that hasn’t kept me from working . . . i simply can’t stay away! so i thought i’d post on the latest things i’ve been working on, but first — here is my dude passed out in his favorite swing!
